Claudeforce is the expanded partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic, announced on August 26, 2026. It places Claude inside Salesforce products such as Agentforce and Slack. It also places Salesforce inside Claude through a plugin named Salesforce in Claude, which carries 37 prebuilt sales skills. The plugin entered beta on September 15, 2026.
Key takeaways
- Claudeforce runs in two directions: Claude in Salesforce (Agentforce, Slack) and Salesforce in Claude (the plugin).
- Salesforce in Claude is in beta for approved orgs on paid Claude plans. It needs the latest Sales Cloud Enterprise edition.
- Sellers work under their own Salesforce permissions, and Claude asks for approval before it writes a change by default.
- Salesforce is targeting November for agent registration and Flex Credit billing on agentic MCP and API calls. The rates are not published.
- Prepare with a permission audit, a data cleanup, and a small sandbox pilot.
If you searched for “Claude Force Salesforce,” Claudeforce is the official name. Salesforce Ben reported that Marc Benioff summed up the idea in four words: “the UI is the AI.” For a seller, that means reviewing a pipeline, updating an opportunity, or prepping a call from Claude or Slack instead of Lightning.
This guide draws on Salesforce, Anthropic, the Claude Help Center, and Salesforce Help. Where a detail is not public, we say so.
What Is Claudeforce? The Salesforce and Anthropic Partnership Explained
Claudeforce runs in two directions. Claude moves into Salesforce as a reasoning model for Agentforce and as the default model for Slack. Salesforce moves into Claude as a plugin, Salesforce in Claude, which launched with 37 prebuilt sales skills. The announcement landed the same day as Salesforce’s Q2 FY27 earnings call.
Salesforce says the plugin runs on AIforce, its enterprise harness that brings business data and workflows to agents through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools. Salesforce Help adds that AIforce was first announced at TDX 2026 as Headless 360. The Salesforce India homepage carries the same idea: with Headless 360, every Salesforce capability is reachable from any tool, agent, or interface.
Salesforce describes itself as Anthropic’s preferred CRM, and the two companies call each other strategic customers.
| Term | What it means |
| Claudeforce | The Salesforce and Anthropic partnership. It launched with Salesforce in Claude. |
| AIforce | Salesforce’s concept of bringing your Salesforce context to the interface where you work. |
| Headless 360 | The original name for AIforce at TDX 2026. |
| Headless Toolkit | The functionality behind AIforce, including MCP servers and APIs. |
| Agentforce | Salesforce’s platform for building and running AI agents. Claude is a model option inside it. |
What Does Salesforce in Claude Include? 37 Sales Skills and Two Connectors
Anthropic describes Salesforce in Claude as a plugin built with Salesforce. It brings a seller’s accounts, opportunities, and pipeline into Claude under existing Salesforce permissions. The 37 skills cover daily account executive work: account research, call prep, pipeline review, and CRM updates. The Claude Help Center lists renewal prep, QBR decks, pipeline coverage, and meeting follow-up too.
The bundle has three parts:
- 37 sales skills built by Salesforce
- A Salesforce connector and a Slack connector
- A setup skill that learns the seller’s role and book of business, then builds a tailored Claude Artifact
Anthropic documents these seller workflows:
- Morning brief: the day’s meetings, deals closing soon, at-risk opportunities, and unread threads. From the brief, a seller can ask Claude to push a close date, change a stage, or add a follow-up task.
- Call prep: Claude pulls open opportunities, the week’s account team discussion, unanswered threads, and open questions from Salesforce, Slack, and email.
- Deal review: Claude scores an opportunity against the team’s methodology. It drafts a business case and a dated mutual close plan, then adds missing stakeholders as contact roles. Nothing saves until the seller approves.
- Post-call update: Claude turns a transcript or notes into a follow-up email, a Slack deal-channel summary, and draft opportunity updates for review.
- Pipeline review: Claude builds an interactive dashboard with coverage by stage and the deals most likely to slip. Sales leaders can run the same views across a team.
Anthropic says GitLab, Siemens, and Legora have deployed the plugin, and that 7,000 Salesforce sellers use it. Salesforce says additional prebuilt skills begin to launch in late 2026.
How Does Claude Work Inside Agentforce, Slack and the Atlas Reasoning Engine?
The Salesforce side of Claudeforce reaches several products, per Salesforce’s announcement as reported by Salesforce Ben:
| Surface | Claude’s role |
| Atlas Reasoning Engine | Reasoning model for Agentforce |
| Agentforce Vibes | Default model |
| Agentforce Coworker | Default model |
| Agent Builder | Available as a model option |
| Slack and Slackbot | Default model, and the engine behind Slackbot |
| Claude Tag | Supports team decision-making in Slack |
| Slack Code | Anthropic is a founding partner |
Claude reaches Agentforce through Amazon Bedrock, inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary. Salesforce says this lets customers deploy domain-specific AI and keep data and AI workloads secure, including in regulated industries.
Claude is one model among several in Salesforce’s plan. Our Dreamforce 2026 recap covers Koa, the CRM reasoning model Salesforce built with NVIDIA, and why model choice is becoming an architecture decision. For the Slack side, see our post on Agentforce in Slack for RevOps.
Is Claudeforce Secure? Permissions, Trust Boundary and Data Handling
Permissions. Sellers sign in with their own Salesforce credentials, and Claude reads what those permissions allow. By default, Claude asks the seller to approve each change before it writes to Salesforce. Salesforce says actions route through Salesforce so business rules stay enforced. On Team and Enterprise plans, Anthropic says it does not train its models on customer data by default.
Data handling. Salesforce Help documents a case worth reading. When a custom action references an LLM hosted inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary, such as the Anthropic Claude model, data does not leave that boundary. The same page says Einstein Trust Layer data masking stays disabled for agents in that case, and zero data retention still applies. Read it in full before you write a risk assessment. Data residency and model training policy are frequent procurement questions for Financial Services Cloud and Manufacturing Cloud deployments.
A caution on sources. Most capability claims so far come from Salesforce and Anthropic launch material. Test in a sandbox before you rely on them.
How Do Admins Set Up Salesforce in Claude? A Step-by-Step Checklist
The Claude Help Center sets out this path for the beta:
- Check eligibility. Your org needs the latest Sales Cloud Enterprise edition, and Salesforce must approve it through the beta sign-up.
- Request access. A Salesforce admin submits the form on AgentExchange and receives an acceptance email with setup instructions.
- Turn on the Salesforce MCP server. The Salesforce admin creates an External Client App for Claude. Salesforce’s developer docs say Connected Apps are not supported for MCP clients, and the Claude callback URL is https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback.
- Enable the plugin in Claude. A Claude admin with Primary Owner or Owner access opens Organization settings, then Plugins. The admin picks “Installed by default,” “Available to install,” or “Required” for each group. Under Connectors, the admin selects “Salesforce (Beta)” and enters the app’s consumer key and secret.
- Let members sign in. Each member signs in with their own Salesforce account on first use.
The plugin works in chat and in Claude Cowork on web and desktop.
AIforce, Headless 360 and Flex Credits: What Changes for Agent Billing?
The Salesforce Help article “Understand AIforce Impact”, published September 17, 2026, describes a new control and billing model inside the Headless Toolkit. Salesforce is targeting November.
- Agent registration: Admins register agents on the platform. Each agent gets its own identity and can hold a narrower permission set than a human user. Salesforce compares it to issuing the agent its own badge instead of lending it an employee badge.
- Billing: Every successful call from a registered agent, over MCP or direct API, counts as a Headless Platform Interaction. Digital Wallet tracks it and Flex Credits pay for it.
- Rates: The multipliers are listed as TBA, and agentic usage is not metered today. Salesforce will give 30 days’ notice before metering begins.
- Scope: Metering applies in active production orgs. Sandboxes, scratch orgs, and Developer Edition orgs do not incur it. Traditional integrations keep their current pricing and security setup.
- Deadlines: Use of any Salesforce MCP server requires agent registration within three months of Salesforce’s notice that Agentic Identity is available. Customers who buy on or after September 17, 2026 must register all agents that use Salesforce APIs in the same window. Existing customers register and migrate at renewal.
The article does not say how Salesforce in Claude will be classified under this model. Ask your account executive before you set a rollout budget. Salesforce Ben’s coverage points to the risk of paying twice, once to the AI provider and once to Salesforce.

How to Prepare Your Salesforce Org for Claudeforce: 5 Checks
- Audit permission sets and profiles. Claude acts as the signed-in user. An over-provisioned user becomes an over-provisioned agent.
- Clean the fields the skills read. A deal health review depends on stage, close date, and contact roles. Inconsistent inputs produce inconsistent reviews.
- Keep approvals on. Claude asks before it writes by default. Keep that setting through the pilot and loosen it one workflow at a time.
- Pilot in a sandbox. Sandboxes do not incur Headless Platform Interaction metering, so you can measure real usage before it costs Flex Credits. Enable Flex Credit billing for your org, which Salesforce Help says can be done with Salesforce Foundations at $0 or another SKU.
- Name an owner for connections. Decide who approves new MCP connections and who watches consumption. Do this before a second team asks for access.
Cloud Odyssey’s Point of View: Claudeforce Rewards a Clean Salesforce Org
Claudeforce changes where people work in Salesforce. It does not change what they depend on. A skill that reviews deal health reads the same fields your reports read. If stages mean different things to different teams, Claude inherits that confusion and delivers it faster.
We see four priorities for teams that plan a pilot:
- Start with a health check. Admin setup takes one connection, which moves risk from configuration to permission hygiene. A Salesforce CRM Health Check shows where access is too wide and where data is thin.
- Connect the systems around Salesforce. Billing, ERP, and support data often sit outside the CRM. MuleSoft integration and a unified Data Cloud foundation give an agent the full account picture.
- Pilot with one team. Pick one Sales Cloud team, run it in a sandbox, and measure hours saved before you add seats or agents.
- Keep model choice open. Claude is a strong option for some workflows. Match each workflow to a model, and have Agentforce design decisions reflect that.
